Job Description:  

• Program Dates: The 2024 internship program will begin on May 19th, 2025, and end on August 8th, 2025.
• Internship Hours: Up to 27 hours/week (maximum), Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; may vary by department.
• Pay Range: $14 per hour up to $20 per hour (graduate/ master’s student), based on the number of credit hours earned. 

Embark on a dynamic GIS journey with the Public Safety department—creating and refining maps, delving into cutting-edge research, and helping shape crucial insights. Prior GIS software experience is a plus, but not a must—we welcome your enthusiasm and readiness to learn!

Department Responsibilities: 

• Code Enforcement
• Emergency Management
• Beach Patrol / Water Safety
• Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
• Emergency Communications Center (ECC)

Internship Program Responsibilities: 

• A presentation to the County Administrator and other County Leadership staff is required at the close of the internship program. 
• Participate in all organized intern events and trainings.

About You 

Minimum Qualifications: 

• High school diploma, or equivalent (if applicable) 
• Eligible to work in the United States – we love local, national, and international students!  
• Currently seeking a diploma or degree through an accredited secondary or post-secondary educational program, or within 12 months after graduation.
