Chesterfield Township is seeking efficient & enthusiastic candidates for the summer, to assist in the engineering and GIS divisions of the Township Public Services Department. The successful candidate must have the ability to follow direction, and an interest in basic Civil Engineering and GIS.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid Michigan Drivers' License and dependable transportation or have transportation available to and from work site.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, use electronic devices to capture data, photos, and time spent on tasks.
• Ability to adhere to established department and Township procedures and guidelines.
• Ability to respond appropriately to verbal and written communication.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Physical Abilities & Work Environment:

• Ability to perceive depth, color, and details of measurement.
• Frequent movement and use of limbs to utilize keyboard, telephone, copy machine/printer, filing cabinet, and office equipment.
• Frequently positions self to file, search for and retrieve records, documents & items.
• Ability to frequently remain in a stationary position (50%).
• Ability to frequently move about the facility (50%).
• Ability to perceive depth, color, and details of measurement.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information, including status of work progress.
• Performs work in various field conditions including, but not limited to: unpaved sites, slippery sites, uneven terrain, mud, as well as regular exposure to outside weather conditions (e.g. heat, cold, wind, rain, humidity).

Hourly Rate: $20.00
