POSITION TITLE: Intern, Engineering, GIS
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

POSITION OVERVIEW:

ADB is seeking a motivated and passionate Intern to support the Engineering team in day-to-day functions of the department. During the internship the goal is to build upon your educational knowledge and develop the skills and experience needed to be successful in all aspects of the Engineering team’s processes. The ideal candidate will have a GPA of 2.5 or higher with a strong work ethic and ALL IN attitude to achieve results. 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Perform field walks with Management to assess assigned projects
• Research existing records including property data and utility records for drafting purposes
• Participate in meetings held between Engineering and Construction teams
• Create and communicate permit packages, generating application paperwork for permit agencies
• Assist in the maintaining of the GIS database
• Utilize spatial data to help analyze and estimate project costs
• Assist in completing finished designs from sketches provided
• Uses computer assisted design/drafting (AutoCAD) equipment and software to develop designs
• Assist in loading and transferring GIS data between different systems
• Develop overall knowledge of daily duties and responsibilities of an engineer in our workplace
• Perform other position duties when requested

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

• Corporate headquarters is located at: 18777 US Highway 66 Pacific, MO 63069
• Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions like sitting, squatting, standing, walking, climbing, etc. 
• May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels while onsite 
• When working on site, will be required to wear common protective of safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel toed boots.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: 

• Actively enrolled in College Courses
• 2.5 or higher GPA required
• High School Diploma or equivalent required

This position pays $14.00 an hour.
