The Geospatial Data Analyst will join a research lab that studies the relationship between neighborhood, cancer risk behaviors, biomarkers and cancer outcomes. Specific research projects will focus on combining machine learning and geospatial approaches to identify and predict which geographic areas have higher than expected rates of cancer-related risk factors (i.e. smoking, obesity), deprivation (i.e. poverty, housing, etc. from the U.S. Census), and initial diagnoses of aggressive disease in order to maximize limited resources and to inform cancer screening interventions. Supports the collection of data, analysis and reporting functions required for studying cancer outcomes from clinical, registry, and geospatial data, and conducts spatial analysis and ensures the integrity of databases developed for research.

Education
Bachelors Degree \: in related field. (Required)
Masters Degree\: Urban/Spatial Analysis, Informatics, Statistics, landscape architecture, Computer/IT related field,or Epidemiology (Preferred)

Experience
1 Year experience in a biomedical research environment that utilizes Big Data. (Required)
1 Year experience with clinical, cancer registry, and/or geospatial databases. (Required)
General experience and familiarity with computer languages (e.g.JAVA, Python). (Required)
General experience with ArcGIS and statistical programming languages (e.g., SAS, R, STATA) (Required)
