Position Overview

Mach9 is at the forefront of transforming geospatial data into actionable insights with cutting-edge technology. As we rapidly grow, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Geospatial Technician to contribute to the preparation, analysis, and quality assurance of advanced 3D LiDAR datasets. You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our geospatial products while defining labeling policies and instructions to guide our data annotation partners. This is an opportunity to work on high-impact projects that contribute to the future of infrastructure development, and to get-in at the ground floor of a rapidly-growing geospatial AI company. 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Perform quality control (QC) on 3D LiDAR maps, marking locations for corrections and ensuring the highest level of accuracy.

  • Conduct application quality assurance (QA) by validating uploads and dataset integrity.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define labeling policies and provide clear instructions for annotation partners.

  • Execute final QA/QC on project deliverables to ensure compliance with company standards.

  • Support project planning and data management activities, including report creation and workload distribution.

  • Communicate project status and updates effectively to team leads.

  • Assist with the development and implementation of QA/QC standards to drive operational excellence.

  • Coach and mentor team members to enhance technical capabilities and knowledge sharing.

 

Required Skills and Experience

 

  • Education & Certification: 2–5 years of relevant survey mapping experience. An Associate’s degree in CAD, GIS, or a related field is highly desirable.

  • Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with computer-aided design software and LiDAR point cloud processing tools. Familiarity with creating and managing 3D models from survey data.

  • Survey Knowledge: Strong understanding of field and office surveying methods, and best practices.

  • Detail-Oriented & Process-Driven: Passion for maintaining high-quality standards and improving processes to support operational objectives.

  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with internal/external customers and other stakeholders.

  • Adaptability & Initiative: A proactive approach to learning new methodologies, managing time effectively, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
