GIS Analyst - Water Resources

Freese and Nichols is seeking a skilled and motivated GIS Analyst to join our Oklahoma City, Tulsa or Rogers office. This position will be responsible for providing GIS support for a wide variety of engineering and planning projects. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to collect, compile, and prepare geospatial data to meet project goals. You will utilize the latest GIS software and technologies to produce high-quality maps, reports, and web-based applications that support decision-making processes across different departments.
- Data Collection and Management: Research, gather, compile, and interpret geospatial data from multiple sources. Prepare, analyze, and integrate disparate spatial data types for analyses. Develop custom geodatabase schemas tailored to project requirements. Thoroughly document sources and processes to ensure geospatial data accuracy and reliability throughout project lifecycle.
- Map Production: Design and produce high-quality, visually appealing maps to support project goals. Develop ArcGIS Online maps and applications for internal and external clients.
- Reporting and Presentation: Compile reports that summarize analysis results and provide actionable insights. Present data in a clear and concise manner through detailed maps or reports.
- Project Collaboration: Collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and other professionals to achieve project objectives. Assist in the development of GIS project strategies and goals.
- Spatial Analysis: Use spatial analysis techniques to identify patterns and relationships within spatial data. Use geostatistical analysis methods to assist in prediction models to simulate real-world events.
- Technical Support: Provide general support for GIS production tasks and technical support for GIS software users. Experience with training new users on how to use GIS technology and software.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science or related field
- Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) principles, concepts, and applications.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro
- Strong understanding of Cartography, GIS data formats, and spatial analysis techniques.
- Knowledge data conversion between GIS, CAD, and other spatial data formats.
- Ability to design, edit, and maintain GIS databases.
Preferred
- 1+ year of experience working in an AEC firm or related industry.
- Familiarity with lidar surface generation and raster data development.
- Experience developing and deploying ArcGIS Online applications including Experience Builder, Field Maps, Survey 123, or other ESRI software.
- Familiarity with Python, Arcade, Model Builder, or GIS tool or application development.
