What We Are Looking For:
We seek a GIS Analyst to support our geospatial data management and mapping efforts. This role involves collecting, analyzing, and maintaining geographic data, creating high-quality maps, and assisting with GIS-based projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and eager to work with GIS software and spatial datasets.
What you will be doing:
• Creating, editing, and maintaining GIS datasets using ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro.
• Performing spatial analysis and data visualization for reports, maps, and presentations.
• Collecting and processing geospatial data from various sources (GPS, satellite imagery, LiDAR, surveys, etc.).
• Assisting in developing and maintaining web-based GIS applications and dashboards.
• Supporting GIS database management, including quality control and metadata documentation.
• Converting and integrating spatial and non-spatial data from multiple formats (shapefiles, CAD, Excel, etc.).
• Collaborating with engineers, planners, and field teams to ensure accurate GIS data usage.
• Troubleshooting GIS-related issues and providing technical support to internal teams.
• Creating analytical figures using third-party database exports (EQuIS, Excel, Access, etc.).
What you will need:
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 1-5 years of experience working with GIS technology (internships and academic experience count).
• Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS products (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcMap) and/or QGIS.
• Understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and spatial analysis techniques.
• Basic Python, SQL, or Arcade scripting knowledge for GIS automation is a plus.
• Experience with GPS data collection, remote sensing, or CAD integration is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, Model Builder, or web GIS applications.
• Familiarity with LiDAR, drone imagery processing, or geodatabases.
• Knowledge of SQL Server, PostgreSQL/Post GIS, or spatial databases.
• GISP certification or willingness to obtain it.
