Opportunity Summary:

Flat River Minerals ("FRM") is a dynamic and growth-focused firm managing a diverse portfolio of mineral, royalty, and non-op assets. Headquartered in beautiful Sheridan, Wyoming, with a satellite office in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, FRM is seeking an experienced GIS Analyst to enhance its geospatial capabilities and data-driven decision-making.

 

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytical professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to apply their expertise to support acquisitions, mapping, and cross-departmental collaboration. The ideal candidate has a strong background in spatial analysis, land data integration, and GIS-based decision support.

You will be joining a team of two experienced GIS Analysts, collaborating closely to advance FRM's acquisition efforts. Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and review title documents, including oil and gas leases, real property deeds, easements, and rights-of-way, to determine geographic locations and implications.

  • Support the acquisitions team by mapping leads generated internally and received through brokers; allocate parcels to existing drilling units and undeveloped areas for valuation.

  • Manage and maintain GIS databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date parcel information, correcting and refining data where necessary.

  • Assist cross-departmental teams by utilizing GIS and data-driven technology to enhance collaborative efforts in GIS and data visualization.

  • Work closely with land and engineering teams to determine boundaries of future drill spacing units for Company forecasts and mineral acquisition valuation.

  • Assist with data integration across platforms such as Salesforce and ComboCurve, ensuring seamless correlation of business intelligence data.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of GIS experience or a bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, GIS, geography, or a related field

  • Advanced experience with ESRI products, specifically ArcGIS and ArcGIS Server

  • Experience with Spotfire, SQL Server, and Python (preferred but not required)

  • Oil and gas industry experience preferred but not required
