We are looking for a GIS professional to partner with Texas Water (water/wastewater, stormwater), Aviation, and other disciplines. The primary responsibilities for this entry-level position include working with our Project Managers and Engineers to provide mapping and analysis support on public infrastructure projects across our company offices. Working with Senior Staff you may incorporate scripting/automation efficiencies into data processing workflows and modeling; develop high-quality maps, charts, graphs, tables, and other figures that illustrate geospatial data; perform comparative analysis and thematic mapping of federal, state, county, and local datasets; and ensure data quality at all stages. Requirements:
- Formal GIS Education- Professional Certificate, Bachelor’s, or Master’s Degree
- Minimum of two years of professional experience in a dedicated GIS role
- Proficiency with the Esri Suite: ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Desktop, and ArcGIS Online; including basic geoprocessing tools, 3D and Spatial Analyst extensions, online publishing, and creation of web apps
- Understanding of coordinate systems and transformations
- Extensive experience working in relational geospatial databases
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Comfortable providing data, clear and standardized exhibits, and other visualization products with minimal oversight
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required to build relationships with team members
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience converting DWG/DGN/DXF file format to GIS and vice versa
- Experience processing LiDAR data, beginning with LAS (or LAZ) datasets
- Familiarity with QGIS, Global Mapper, or other GIS programs
- Experience with ModelBuilder, Python, or other GIS scripting languages including SQL
- General Engineering or Aviation Engineering GIS support experience

Work Environment
