Tachus Fiber Internet (“Tachus”) is seeking an experienced GIS Analyst to join our Business Intelligence team. Tachus is a fiber broadband internet provider delivering service to the Greater Houston area since 2018. As the GIS Analyst, you will report to the Business Intelligence Manager and play a critical role in our organization by leveraging your expertise in geographic information systems (GIS) and ESRI software. Your responsibilities will involve analyzing spatial data, creating digital maps, and providing valuable insights to support decision-making across various industries.
Responsibilities:
- Spatial Data Analysis:
- Use specialized mapping software (such as ESRI ArcGIS) to analyze geographic data.
- Identify trends, patterns, and relationships within spatial datasets.
- Digital Mapping:
- Create accurate and visually appealing digital maps of specific areas.
- Design maps to showcase various data sets (e.g., hospital locations, construction statistics).
- Application Development:
- Develop and maintain GIS applications, systems, and navigational tools.
- Collaborate with other teams to enhance mapping capabilities.
- Data Conversion and Maintenance:
- Update, collate, and maintain dynamic data sets from public and private sources.
- Ensure data accuracy and resolve conflicts.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Generate reports for company users, presenting mapping data effectively.
- Maintain and document a library of digital maps for internal and external use.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS software.
- Experience with spatial data analysis and cartography.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills.
