Under the supervision of the Geospatial Science Lead, and reporting to the Senior Manager, of the Infrastructure Resilience and Analysis department, you will conduct geospatial research on the critical infrastructure of the United States, with responsibilities primarily consisting of open-source data collection, processing, and verification of locations, attributes, and relationships among facilities and systems of energy, water, communications, transportation, and other infrastructure sectors. You will help construct data sets for the federal government of both public and private infrastructure, recording characteristics relevant to analysis of supply chains and interdependencies. You will organize heterogeneous data, requiring skills such as processing and verification using maps of various ages and scales, multiple databases of varying accuracy, documents and reports with various purposes, and imagery, video, and remotely sensing information. The ideal candidate would have familiarity with graph theory, and the analysis of spatial and temporal network data. Experience and comfort with applicable tools and methods, such as graph data bases, GIS, Python, and R, would be valuable. The ideal candidate would have a background in intelligence using maps and imagery.
This team works a 9x80 schedule remote.

Undergraduate junior-senior, Masters student, or PhD student enrolled full time at an accredited college/university studying Mathematics, Geography, Computer Science, or a closely related field

Compensation and Benefits:

Undergraduate Internships ($25.65/hour - $30.70/hour)

Masters Internships and PhD Internships Pre-Candidacy ($31.75/hour - $34.06/hour)

PhD Internships Post-Candidacy ($33.75/hour - $36.06/hour)
