We help others understand and use trees as a solution to global issues (like air quality, water quality, climate change, deforestation, poverty, and hunger) that are critical to survival. 

The Arbor Day Foundation is seeking a GIS Developer to support the development of a custom geospatial system that will highlight the impact made through urban forestry projects. This position will provide hands-on experience in the development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of the application. This role is expected to be the lead developer of all Esri COTS applications for the system and support the lead project developer in building custom application components. 

You Have:   

• Passion. For the Foundation’s mission, nature, environmental stewardship, and people. 

• Proven track record. You've delivered custom and configurable geospatial applications using Esri technologies such as the ArcGIS SDK for JavaScript, or similar open-source technologies. 

• Experience using Esri configurable off-the shelf solutions. You're skilled in Survey 123, Experience Builder, and StoryMaps.  

• Enterprise database skills. You've worked with enterprise geodatabases (e.g., SQL Server, Postgres). 

• Source control management. You have managed code repositories using Git, ensuring proper version control and history tracking. 

• A growth mindset. You are willing to learn new skills in support of application development (e.g., create application wireframes). 

You Will:    

• Design, build, and maintain Esri COTS applications. Use Esri configurable off-the shelf solutions and extend Esri COTS applications with custom functionality.  

• Build applications and solutions. Collaborate with Senior GIS Developer to leverage ArcGIS SDK for JavaScript, ArcGIS REST API, and other Esri web technologies.  

• Automate management workflows. Use Python, acrpy and Esri API for Python.  

• Create and manage data. Utilizing multiuser enterprise geodatabases (i.e., SQL Server)  

• Manage code. You will manage code repositories using Git, ensuring proper version control and history tracking. 

• Support application development. You assist in requirements gathers, software architecture, and design work in support of application development.  

• Develop and implement test plans. Design and execute comprehensive testing protocols and quality assurance processes
