GIS Development & Infrastructure – The GIS Developer is responsible for geospatial and data integration development on projects, dashboards, and GIS software. Key areas of support include ESRI, Geocortex, FME and python scripting. This position supports BPG by making recommendation for changes and improvements to GIS infrastructure, such as new software, improved efficiencies and processes.

Supporting Project Initiatives – The GIS Developer is responsible for prioritizing GIS development initiatives supporting both internal and external projects. Prioritizing these initiatives may include defining project requirements, developing new tools/widgets, processes, and controls, changing database/feature structures and schemas, and properly staffing the requests to meet deadlines. The GIS Developer will maintain current knowledge of industry trends, current practices, and new developments in the GIS industry to enable BPG initiatives.

Web App Development – The GIS Developer is responsible for ensuring that web application changes are made according to BPG application standards and maintains overall responsibility for the quality control of the changes. The GIS Developer provides oversight and mentoring to junior and mid-level GIS and Development staff.

Project Resource Planning – The GIS Developer is responsible for responding to relevant requests for qualifications, meeting internal and external customer deadlines. The GIS Developer is responsible for coordinating the planning of resources, both personnel and software related to business development requests and on-going projects within the larger context of IT Services.
