The South Carolina Office of Regulatory Staff (ORS) represents the public interest of South Carolina in utility regulation for the major utility industries – electric, natural gas, telecommunications, water/wastewater, and transportation – before the Public Service Commission (PSC), the court system, and state and federal regulatory bodies. Additionally, the ORS houses the state’s Energy Office, Broadband Office, Digital Opportunity Department, Equipment Distribution Program (EDP), and has responsibility for oversight of railroad safety and natural gas pipeline safety in South Carolina.

The Broadband Office is seeking part-time and/or full-time temporary interns to assist in the monitoring and reporting of broadband office funded projects. Work schedules are flexible to accommodate class schedules with full-time work available during breaks or at other available times. Some in-office and field work job duties include:

• Conduct site visits on funded projects to collect data on overall progress.
• Plot findings, review, and import data using ESRI ArcGIS Pro software.
• Prepare both static and web-based ESRI Story maps.
• Attend virtual status meetings with broadband office grantees.
• Compile notes and provide support on action items.

Currently enrolled in a certificate or degree program, and a valid SC Driver's License.

Knowledge or coursework using ESRI ArcGIS Pro software.
