This position is responsible for maintenance, updates, and data conversions within the City’s geographical information systems (GIS) databases aiding the IT/GIS Division.

• Performs spatial data editing, attribute entry, data conversions, updating, and geoprocessing techniques (i.e. buffers, clips, and spatial joins).
• Generates maps using cartographic techniques.
• Analyzes plats, imagery, remotely sensed data, drawings, and other related information.
• Performs other duties of a comparable level/type as required.

• Must be enrolled in or have completed a curriculum that leads to a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
• Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position.

• Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.

• Proficient cartographic skills and techniques.
• Knowledge and understanding of basic GIS principles.
