Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have experience in working with GIS land records data and with deeds, plats, and condominium documents; have experience in communicating with engineering professionals and the public about land records; have technical experience in working with relational databases, to include joining, querying, analysis, and reporting; have the ability to successfully explain complex land records issues to a non-technical audience; and have knowledge of or the ability to research local and state code and ordinance pertaining to land records.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Analytical skills to diagnose and identify solutions.
• Knowledge of GIS data development and maintenance.
• Knowledge of and experience with Esri software, such as ArcPro and ArcGIS Online.
• Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with land records management systems.
• Experience with electronic plan review software.
• Established experience in the land development process, land records maintenance and in working with deeds and plats.
• Experience in working with the public.
• Experience working with staff and products from engineering firms.
• Experience in documenting GIS processes.
• Knowledge of land surveying and/or civil engineering best practices.
• Understanding of map scale, precision, and accuracy.
• Familiarity with court records and research.
• Has knowledge of local or state land records laws or processes.
• Experience in guiding the work of others as a subject matter expert.

Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Cartography, Computer Science, or related field; two (2) years of related work experience in GIS, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
