SUMMARY
Are you passionate about GIS technology and eager to make an impact across diverse projects nationwide? Join HR Green as a GIS Specialist, where we are seeking a skilled individual with expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), arcade, and Python to join our dynamic development team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining GIS-based applications, tools, and services to support geospatial data analysis, design, mapping, and visualization. You will leverage Python to implement tools, integrate third-party GIS applications, and develop automated workflows for data processing, design, and analysis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promotes data standards for the creation, management, and sharing of spatial and nonspatial data for internal staff and client GIS users.
- Tests web application services.
- Contributes to system incident response, event handling and reporting.
- Creates and maintains web maps and applications for ArcGIS Online and Portal for ArcGIS.
- Maintains geospatial datasets.
- Executes workflows and automated routines using Arcade, Python, ModelBuilder or other similar technology.
- Collects and compiles online data.
- Compiles metadata documentation of datasets and processes.
- Assists with improvement of database effectiveness across Business Lines and project types.
- Participates in meetings and events within work groups, company business lines, and with clients in the office and offsite.
- Conducts presentations for internal meetings, client meetings, and conferences.
- Follows complex workflows and procedures thoroughly.
- Innovates and troubleshoots in a fast paced, high stress environment.
- Uses Microsoft Office Professional Suite applications (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills.
- Develops effective working relationships with internal staff as external client contacts.
- Utilizes current project planning and time management systems to meet deadlines and goals.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Geographic Information Systems (or equivalent) or a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography, Environmental Sciences, or another applicable field from an accredited college or university and at least three (3) years’ experience using ESRI ArcGIS
- Enterprise in a design or engineering environment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Knowledge of fiber utility systems.
- Experience with scripting languages (python, arcade, JSON, SQL, Java Script, Visual Basic, etc.).
- Experience authoring Python scripts, creating attribute rules, and creating models in ArcGIS ModelBuilder for automation of routines and geo-processes.
- Previous experience with data visualization and graphics tools for the creation of professional presentations, reports, web content, and education materials, ArcGIS software and applications.
- ArcGIS Online and Portal for ArcGIS to produce Web Maps and Experience Builders, Field Maps for ArcGIS and Survey123 field apps, ESRI ArcGIS 11.x software suite, and ArcGIS Pro required.
- Skills in spatial data creation and editing using ArcGIS Pro, database management including skills in creating, editing, updating, joining, appending, and querying data from spatial and non-spatial relational databases including MS SQL Server, Biarri Networks FOND Planner, 3GIS, and Alteryx Designer software tools required.
- Valid driver’s license in the state of residence and a reliable means of transportation to travel for company business.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Possesses an extensive knowledge of other common municipal utility systems.
- Experience with extract, transform, and load (ETL) software such as Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) preferred.

COMPENSATION RANGE
$55,200.00-$85,500.00
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and geographic work location. The total annual compensation package may consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our performance and discretionary incentive bonus program(s).
