Position Overview:
Produces maps, analyses, applications and programs to support users of GIS.
Job Duties:
- Create and update GIS data within the Enterprise Geodatabase, ArcGIS Online, and GIS Portal.
- Support GIS database management, including data design, multi-user version editing workflows, metadata maintenance, and QA/QC.
- Perform spatial analysis and geoprocessing tasks to support various projects.
- Develop maps, exhibits, reports, dashboards, applications to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with teams to provide GIS support across multiple business areas, including infrastructure asset management, permitting, planning, transportation, construction, building operations, and disaster recovery.
- Conduct research and gather data from external agencies to enhance GIS datasets.
- Provide technical support and training to staff on GIS tools and applications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience:
- 2 years of experience in GIS-related work.
- Experience with ESRI ArcGIS software suite (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online) is required.
- Understanding of cartographic principles and geospatial data management.
- Proficient in Geodatabase design, domain, subtype, versioning editing workflow.
- Familiarity with spatial data formats (e.g., shapefiles, geodatabases, raster data) and coordinate systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Education: Master’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience:
- Experience with scripting and automation (Model Builder, Python, Arcade, SQL) for GIS workflows.
- Knowledge of remote sensing, Aerial imagery, Lidar, GIS field data collection, and web GIS applications.
- Familiarity with database management (SQL Server, TSQL).
Position Type, and Typical Hours of Work:
Full-Time | Regular | 40 hours per week.
Subject to early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays at times, depending upon the project or workload.
Salary:
Commensurate with experience, based on 26 pay periods.
Physical Demands and Environmental Exposure:
Most assignments will be performed in an office, meeting, or operations command center environment, but some field work may be required. May be required to work extended work hours during activation of disaster recovery operations for an unspecified length of time (varies based on the extent of the event).
This position requires bending, stooping, and lifting to 25 lbs., frequent walking, standing, sitting, reaching, and ascending/descending stairs.
