About the Role: 

The FTTH GIS Technician is responsible for leveraging advanced geospatial technologies to analyze, manage, and visualize complex spatial data, enabling data-driven decision-making and supporting various fiber-to-the home projects. This role demands proficiency in GIS software, spatial analysis, and data management and a solid collaboration ability with cross-functional teams. This position is a 3 month contract position.

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Collect, organize, and maintain spatial datasets related to telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring
  • data integrity and accuracy.
  • Utilize GIS software to create maps and visualization to communicate spatial information, site
  • locations, and network designs to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Responsible for maintaining an inventory of network assets within GIS platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, regulatory compliance, and project
  • management to support the successful implementation of telecommunications projects.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to verify the accuracy and reliability of spatial data and analysis
  • results.
  • Complete additional GIS tasks as assigned.

 

 

 

Key Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent education, .
  • Associate’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, or related field.
  • Familiarity with telecommunication infrastructure and network planning concepts is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for conducting spatial analysis, troubleshooting GIS issues, and resolving data discrepancies.
  • A basic understanding of fiber optic fiber-to-the-home network architecture, components, and
  • terminology. They should be familiar with concepts such as fiber optic splicing, termination, and
  • network topology.
  • Willingness to stay updated on emerging GIS technologies, trends, and best practices through self-learning, professional development opportunities, and participation in GIS communities and forums.
  • Adaptability to new tools, methodologies, and project requirements in a dynamic and evolving GIS landscape.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced
  • environment
