Description

Duties

Provide support to the IEC Environmental Restoration GIS Lead in the preparation of maps and figures for inclusion in reports, plans, and other regulatory deliverables; assist in the development and maintenance of maps and GIS project data sets and performing GIS system maintenance and editing tasks. Work will include initial badging and training, followed by onsite work with the IEC GIS Analyst.

Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS 

Four-year degree in GIS, geospatial technologies, or related field; 2-4 years of experience using GIS in a professional setting.

Additional SHQ&S Requirements:

  • Knows and complies with environmental, safety, health, and pollution prevention regulations, policies, and procedures for this position.
  • Ensures own safety and safety of coworkers. Reports unsafe work conditions to immediate manager.
  • Ensures that the five core functions of the Integrated Safety Management System are understood and applied when performing job duties.
  • Ensures that operational excellence is achieved through appropriate implementation of conduct of operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Proficient in producing maps in Arc GIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro.
  • Experience using a wide variety of GIS software tools.
  • Experience editing GIS data with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Must be familiar with, and comply with, all relevant health and safety requirements.
  • Must be knowledgeable of emergency action policies and procedures, methods for reporting/resolving unsafe work practices or conditions to available cognizant professionals.

Desired Qualifications

  • Skills and experience with cartographic design.
  • Understanding of coordinate systems.
  • Ability to identify problems and work in a team environment to find solutions.
  • Able to work with established workflows and manage multiple tasks •Use and knowledge of GPS and field surveying.

LOCATION 

Idaho Falls, Idaho

(On site; Remote work may be possible depending upon 1. Managerial approval 2. Work conditions and establishment of remote access with approval from safeguards and security)


CONTRACT DURATION  

8 months, as needed up to an average of 20 hours week (Part-Time)
